Meet Our Partners
Pastor Chris & Katherine Davidson
Pastor Chris is the Lead Pastor of Merkinch Free Church in Inverness, Scotland. Partnering with the Free North Church of Inverness as well as 20Schemes, Chris and Catherine have dedicated their lives to see healthy, gospel-preaching churches planted in the Merkinch scheme of Inverness. Chris and Katherine have a heart for the people of Merkinch and desire to see their hearts and lives changed by the truths of the gospel.
Merkinch Free Church
Merkinch Free Church is a church plant located right in the middle of the scheme of Merkinch. This church plant started in 2018 when 20schemes and the Free North Church in Inverness partnered together with Pastor Chris Davidson to see a healthy, gospel-preaching church planted in Merkinch. By God’s grace, they launched as a church on the 6th of February, 2023. God has faithfully provided both spiritual and numerical growth through the faithful preaching of God’s Word and service of His people.

20Schemes is a ministry committed to bringing the light of the gospel to the most impoverished areas of Scotland known as schemes by planting and revitalizing Bible-believing, gospel-preaching churches.
Our Priorities
Gospel Clarity
The central message of our faith is The Gospel - that Jesus Christ came to provide a perfect atonement on the cross to reconcile us with God, and through faith in Him, we can be forgiven of all sin and freed to live a life of joyful obedience to God. All our work in Scotland seeks to proclaim and protect this glorious good news.
Pastor Training
Strong churches grow and flourish around faithful pastors. Knowing this, we seek to train and equip local pastors in Biblical doctrine for faithful ministry. We are working to establish and strengthen enduring faithfulness to God's Word among the church leaders of the Highlands of Scotland by partnering with Pastor Chris and the ministry of 20Schemes as they are actively training and equipping local church leaders to plant and revitalize healthy, gospel-preaching local churches.
Church Planting
Local churches are God’s Plan A for the advancement of the gospel message. Knowing this, we seek to mobilize the men who have gone through 20Schemes’ Pastor’s Training by providing true partnerships that include accountability, financial support, and sound Biblical guidance.
Making Disciples
In all of our work, we want to make disciples of Jesus. We send teams regularly to Inverness to work in the local community of Merkinch - sharing the love and truth of Jesus. Though each trip varies according to the needs presented by Pastor Chris, our goal is always to make disciples who both know and obey the truths of the Bible. As we go to make disciples, we also grow in our own knowledge and obedience of the Scriptures.
