Preparing our hearts for Easter!
In all of history, there has never been nor will there ever be a more significant moment than the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Planned from eternity past, there at Calvary the eternal redemption of God for His covenant people was accomplished in full. On that cross, Jesus once and for all solved the problem of sin – nailing the record of debt that stood against us with its legal demands to the cross, triumphing over judgement with mercy.
As we approach the Easter season, it is worth taking some time to remember the story of the cross – taking in all the details to better see and treasure the salvation that Jesus brings us. Toward that end, this Holy Week, we have written a series of daily devotions that track the final week of Jesus in real time. We will read and contemplate the biblical narrative that covers each of Jesus’s final days, preparing our hearts and minds to rightly worship on Resurrection Sunday as we go.
